Weather has always held an interest for me. Clouds and their formation are always interesting. For additional photos and discussion please consult my Weather Blog.
I will have clouds aplenty on this blog.

Out ‘here’ grain elevators are all over the place. Some small and some large as a previous post showed. You would think that if you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all. Not so much so I present some that I have found ‘photogenic’

On my way into Colorado. This was on Highway 96 taking me to Eads, CO. This version on I 70 the big interstate is usually crowded with people wanting their picture taken in front of the sign. Here I had it all to myself.

Snapped on Highway 287 in Colorado.

But I don’t think you can actually get gas here. Maybe it was just closed because it was a Sunday. If so then it’s still a throw back to the days when everything was closed on Sunday. Scott City, KS

Just out in the middle of nowhere. Off in the distance are the wind turbines and that’s it! Yet it was inviting which is why I made a special trip to look at it. It’s on KS 96 near Leoti, KS

Friends of ours live on a ranch in Eastern Colorado. This is their front view. Recently someone put a heard of Buffalo out there – can’t imagine a nicer addition to your front yard!

I’ve taken to walking around cemeteries. I’ve always done this but now have added this facet to my trips out to Kansas. I was actually headed to a cemetery in Syracuse, KS- got lost and so as I headed back to Garden City on Highway 50 I came across another one in Kendall, KS. This happens to be where the time zone changes from Mountain to Central Time.

This is one of the larger ones – It’s in Syracuse, Kansas. Having spent 19 years in Syracuse, NY I was curious about the names. Turns out that residents of the NY Syracuse settled here in SW Kansas just inside from the Colorado border. Their other claim to fame as that sometime in the late 1800’s they had an all female city council.

Still was 93degF but it was nice to have some shade heading into the western sun
